Tate Liverpool
Tate Liverpool, located in the port city of Liverpool in the north of England, is one of the family of four Tate galleries which display selections from the Tate Collection. Tate Liverpool opened in 1988 and was created to share the Tate Collection with the North of England. It displays works from the national collection of international modern art and has played a part in the regeneration of Liverpool following its drastic decline as a port in the 1960s. Tate Liverpool is housed in a converted warehouse in the Albert Dock, one of the finest groups of nineteenth-century industrial buildings anywhere.
