Clinton Center to Feature Acoustiguide Audio Tour Led By Clinton

(New York)  – June 1, 2006 - The William J. Clinton Presidential Center will feature a first-of-its kind audio tour, led by William J. Clinton, which includes the President adding his perspective to many of the exhibits featured throughout his library. President Clinton is the first president to provide a walking audio tour for a presidential library.

"This Acoustiguide will give visitors an additional perspective of my life and presidency, and I hope it will enhance their overall experience at my library," said former President Bill Clinton.

During the hour-long audio tour, President Clinton leads visitors through featured areas of the Clinton Center and discusses some of the many influences in his life, from his early childhood years to his friendships with Yitzhak Rabin, Nelson Mandela and other world leaders.

"The audio tour complements our visitors' experience to the Clinton Center. This tour, combined with assistance from our trained volunteer docents, will provide a one-of-a-kind experience," said George Campbell, a volunteer at the Clinton Center.

Eleanor Roosevelt narrated the first audio tour for a presidential site - the FDR Home in Hyde Park, New York, also by Acoustiguide.

The National Archives is excited about offering this unique perspective to the Clinton Center. "We are very pleased that our museum visitors will experience the unique educational opportunity of listening to President Clinton's personal comments via the new Acoustiguide system. This electronic component will enhance the visitor's tour of our exhibits gallery by providing them with the President's own personal, conversational commentary," said David Alsobrook, Director of the Clinton Presidential Library and Museum.

The audio tour was produced by Acoustiguide Inc., a subsidiary of the Espro Acoustiguide Group, which is a global provider of audio and multimedia tours.Espro Acoustiguide Group provides audio and multimedia programs for museums, heritage and historic sites, tourism attractions, zoos, aquaria and corporate clients in dozens of countries around the world. For more information, visit www.acoustiguide.com.

The Clinton Center will offer the audio tour to visitors beginning Saturday, June 3. The audio tour will be available during regular museum hours (Monday-Saturday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.; Sunday, 1 p.m.-5 p.m.) for $3.00, in addition to the regular admission fee. All proceeds from the rental fee will pay for production of the audio tour. Clinton Center volunteers will assist visitors with the audio tour.
