Acoustiguide Inc. wins 3 MUSE awards; work is honored in 3 different categories:
Audio Tours, Podcasts and Interactive Installations
(New
York) For the second consecutive year, Acoustiguide received three MUSE awards
for outstanding achievement in museum media. This year, for the first time,
Acoustiguide's work was honored in three distinct categories: Audio Tours,
Podcasts, and Interpretive Installation. Acoustiguide is the only vendor to be
honored across categories. The MUSE awards are given annually by the Media and
Technology Standing Professional Committee of the American Association of
Museums.
In the
audio tour category, Acoustiguide received a Silver Award for Richard Serra
Sculpture: Forty Years on behalf of its client, the Museum of Modern Art.
The judges deemed the first-person narrative "a great match of form and
subject," recognizing that "there is nothing flashy in the audio....and that's a
strength." The artists' commentary was culled from three separate interviews
Acoustiguide conducted in the summer of 2007, resulting in a tour that was the
Museum's most listened-to in 2007. Listeners can access the Serra tour at:

For
its podcast, Beyond Baseball: The Life of Roberto Clemente on behalf of
the Smithsonian Travelling Exhibition Service, Acoustiguide was honored with
another Silver award. The judges remarked that the Clemente podcast is
"engaging, informative, and inspirational," and noted that "the elegance of
presentation and organization of themes, the compelling and inspirational
stories, and the production values...let you lose yourself in time and
place...and add up to a concise and excellent podcast series." the podcast may

In the
interpretive interactive installation category, Acoustiguide received a Bronze
award for its mobile multimedia program for the Detroit Institute of Art's
centerpiece, Diego Rivera's immense Detroit Industry murals. The award
was garnered alongside the Museum's other technology-based interpretation by
Pentagram. The judges decreed that the interpretive technologies offer "an
impressively diverse mix of experiences that are astutely matched...to differing
goals and visitor outcomes." For a demonstration of the Rivera Court project,

Acoustiguide Inc.'s CEO, Ted Vasquez, remarked: "We are thrilled that
Acoustiguide's work across interpretive categories and platforms was recognized
by a group of distinguished peers. Hats off to the educators and scholars who
contribute their efforts to the widest possible dissemination of high quality
content. We are proud to be among you."
