Acoustiguide launches David Hockney Audio Tour at the National Portrait Gallery

(London)  –    Acoustiguide is delighted to have worked alongside The National Portrait Gallery to supply a sixty minute audio guide for the sensational exhibition David Hockney: Portraits. The exhibition, which runs from 12 October 2006 to 21 January 2007, is a rare opportunity to examine a lifetime of works by Hockney. The audio guide highlights a wonderful selection of Hockney’s unique artworks including the renowned Peter Getting Out of Nick’s Pool and Mr and Mrs Clark and Percy.

This exhibition of self-portraits and portraits of his parents, friends and cultural figures, transports visitors through the life and loves of Hockney. The audio guide includes interview contributions from curator, Sarah Howgate, and a selection of Hockney’s sitters, including John Kasmin, Mark Glazebrook and Margaret Hockney, which provide the visitor with a unique opportunity to discover Hockney from the other side of the easel. Archive recordings of Hockney also serve to entertain the visitor with his, at times, humorous recollections of his parents, sitters and life experiences.

The audio guide is delivered on Acoustiguide’s Denon system, which is comfortably worn around the neck, utilising either an earpiece or headphones. The unit is easy to use, lightweight and fully accessible with features for both visually and hearing impaired visitors.
