World first launch at the Australian War Memorial
(Sydney) - Acoustiguide of
Australia, a wholly owned subsidiary of Espro Acoustiguide Group, the
global provider of audio guide, multimedia interpretation systems and creative
content, is pleased to announce that the Australian War Memorial (the Memorial)
was yesterday the first site in the world to launch their newest technology Opus
Touch.
The Memorial will be using Opus
Touch and multimedia content developed by Acoustiguide under the in-house
branding of iTour. The iTour combines recorded voice and music with images on a
touch screen player, to provide an interactive guide to the Commemorative Area,
which is the heart of the Memorial.
Assistant Director, Helen
Withnell said: "The Memorial is constantly looking at ways to improve the
experience for visitors. We are very excited about the introduction of the
iTour, and even more excited to be the world's first cultural institution to use
this new technology. This very important first phase will set the standard for
future iTour expansion at the Memorial, including tours in languages other than
English".
Key benefits of Opus, a purpose
designed and built multimedia museum guide are the hybrid nature of the player,
allowing visitors to listen to it as a wand - with the highest quality sound, or
with an earphone inserted into the innovative smart strap. The availability of
touch screen and keypad models allows a sight to select the most suitable
interface for visitors to their site.
Maryanne Leigh, General Manager
of Acoustiguide of Australia, commented: "We are exceedingly proud to be working
with one of our Nation's most significant historic sites".
Israel Gal, CEO of Espro
Acoustiguide Group added: "This is a landmark co-operation, demonstrating our
creative expertise and the technical superiority of our latest multimedia
guiding system in the international market".
