(London) - Turbulent Landscapes, a new interactive exhibition that combines science with art, is the first exhibition held at The Natural History Museum to be accompanied by an audio tour.
Developed by The Natural History Museum in association with Acoustiguide, the free audio guide gives visitors illuminating insights into the natural and scientific processes that inspired the six international artists whose work is displayed. To complement the narration, expert commentary is provided by leading scientist and inventor Dr. James Lovelock, author of Gaia, who takes the visitor on a personal tour of the exhibition.
The audio guide provides dramatised extracts from literary and historical sources that bring to life the human experience of natural forces. Visitors using the Acoustiguide Wands are able to tour Turbulent Landscapes at their own pace, and access individual commentaries in any order.
Turbulent Landscapes was created by the Exploratorium of San Francisco and developed for Europe with The Natural History Museum. The exhibition is on view from April 19 to September 15, 2002. For more information visit: www.nhm.ac.uk.
