Waddesdon Manor Coach House Audio Tour
ENGLANDThe Coach House forms part of the Stables complex at Waddesdon. Designed by the architect of the Manor itself, Gabriel-Hippolyte Destailleur, they are housed in a French-inspired courtyard, of which the Coach House takes up one wing. Originally, the complex included a coach washing shed, stalls for the carriage horses, loose boxes for riding horses, tack rooms and feed rooms, with accommodation for the grooms and stable hands above. Now, it houses a restaurant, shops and within the Coach House, an area for exhibitions, performances and displays.

The 50th Anniversary Audio Tour celebrates the bequest of the Manor to the National Trust in 1957 on the death of James de Rothschild through the voices of some of those who were involved in the early days of the opening of the Manor to the public. It recounts the preparations needed to transform the house to absorb thousands of visitors annually, the central role played by James' widow Dorothy and the early relationship with the National Trust itself seen through the eyes of those who knew her, including the present Lord Rothschild.
Transformed Gods - Classical sculptures of the Museo del Prado Audio Tour
DRESDEN, GERMANYMay 20th - September 27th 2009
The sculpture collections of the Museo Nacional del Prado and of the Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden posses two of the most distinguished antique collections outside of Italy. Due to the fact that Augustus the Strong and the Spanish King Phillip V acquired entire collections of antiquities for their royal residences, both are similar in the diversity of their holdings and incoporate major works of classical sculpture.
The outstanding holdings of both museums permit a broad presentation of ancient key works from the Classic Period of Roman art. "This exhibition is a prime example for the benefits of international museum cooperation. We discover interactions of the collections' histories, publish new research cooperatively and are able to elate the audiences in two locations for exceptional exhibitions. After the great success in Madrid, we are looking forward to a superb art event in Dresden", said Prof. Dr. Martin Roth, Director General of the Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden.

Dresden State Art Collection (SKD), Historic Green Vault Audio Tour
DRESDEN, GERMANYHistoric Green Vault at Dresden Royal Palace
The Green Vault at the Dresden Royal Palace, founded by August the Strong, is the first royal treasure chamber in Europe and was first open to visitors between 1723 and 1729. Eight showrooms of acquired and inherited treasure, gold, bronze statuettes and jewellery were presented and organized neatly by material. During the World War Second the showrooms were damaged and partly destroyed, but after expensive restoration and reconstruction they once again opened to the public in September 2006.

DRESDEN, GERMANYNew Green Vault at Dresden Royal Palace
Whilst the exhibits in the treasure chamber of August the Strong merge with its own architecture into a breathtaking integreted work of art, in the New Green Vault (located directly over the historical rooms) the beauty of a single object is in the foreground. Pieces of the treasure chamber include: the famous Cherry Stone; choice Italian objects of rock crystal; the legendary Green Diamond; the valuable ivory frigate; masterpieces of the Royal Jewller Johann Melchior Dinglinger (such as the Court of the Grand Mogul); and the Golden Coffee Set.
Dresden State Art Collection (SKD), New Green Vault Audio Tour for Children
DRESDEN, GERMANYChildren Tour at New Green Vault at Dresden Royal Palace
From February 2009 the New Green Vault has cast a spell on its younger visitors with an audio tour for children. The man of the house, His Ghostly Majesty August the Strong, guides the siblings Clara and Leo through his rooms and enthuses on the Royal Household and its treasures. The many faces of the famous Dresden Cherry Stone also speak: the Merry Jester who tells of frequently arriving by pig-drawn carriage for the King's amusement; Daphne whispers to us as she metamorphizes into a bay tree; fantasy creatures including the sneaky Netzglasspinne ( a spider inside the Venecian Vetro) pugnacious centaurs, sleepy dragons, moody goddesses and, of course, the Golden Coffee Set also make their entrance.

Badisches Landesmuseum Karlsruhe Audio Tour
KARLSRUHE, GERMANYArt Nouveau on the Upper Rhine
Life and art that transcend borders
18 April - 9 August 2009
Art nouveau knows no boundaries! Around 1900, the art nouveau movement aspired to create unity between art and life. The exhibition at Karlsruhe's palace shows how this sweeping reform of the modern age manifested itself where the borders of Germany, Switzerland and France meet. Distinct local influences can be seen in the nearly 700 objects, which include pictures, furniture and jewellery from artists such as Max Laeuger, Hermann Billing, Jean-Jacques Waltz, Charles Spindler and Hans Sandreuter. A life-sized model of a furnished art nouveau flat not only shows the typical furniture style at the turn of the century, it also creates an impression of the spirit of the day and of how its inhabitants lived. An audioguide will be available for the exhibition in German and French.
